Living Longer and Better: Strategies for Aging Cats
Explore the biological processes of aging in cats and the emerging role of stem cells in supporting tissue health and managing age-related diseases.
About the Course
This webinar will explore the biology of aging in cats and examine how regenerative medicine may offer new approaches to supporting tissue health and function in the aging feline patient. Throughout the session, the emphasis will be on translating science into clinical relevance: What happens to aging tissues? What does the current evidence tell us? And where are the most promising opportunities and remaining questions for using regenerative medicine to help cats not simply live longer, but live better?
This program has been RACE-approved (20-1411261) for 1 hour of continuing education credit for veterinarians and veterinary technicians/technologists in jurisdictions that recognize RACE approval.
Learning objectives
- Review the physical changes that occur in the aging senior feline patient.
- Understand how stem cells and their associated biologic signals may help influence the aging process and potentially promote tissue repair, reduce inflammation, and support healthier function.
- Discuss specific diseases that commonly affect senior cats and how stem cell therapy is being actively investigated, including osteoarthritis and chronic kidney disease.
- Learn how stem cell therapy may have applications in other age-associated conditions including periodontal and oral disease, asthma, and cardiovascular disease.
